i tripped and spilled my heart on you
Trying to sop up the last mess
cuz truth told I couldn't stand to be apart
and sorry that I've tried so hard to impress
I'm falling back on my old ways,
dreaming daily of life before you confessed
killing myself a thousand times a day
Wanting to rip out the cord but
missing you on the flatline
please do not resuscitate

You've got a battle going on there. There's that well known expression, never let your heart rule your head, and I'm inclined to agree with it although it isn't easy to put into practice. Takes a great deal of strength, particularly where relationships are concerned. You expressed your emotions well in this piece. Thank you.
