OracleA Poem by Ariesmy dreams are unpleasantthe nightmare sometimes ends with swirling emptiness underneath an old house a dank basement, a discarded blouse concrete walls reek of dead firewood with rain-soaked carpet on my back I'm too scared to react as my mind retracts from the eternal shame sometimes it ends with supersonic lead crushing my skull pained with every terrified organ dying as I fail to not succumb it ends on occasion with the hounds of war roaring vengeance at my door their hurried jackboots on the stairs and my heart vehement on my tongue because I know what's to come there is something that I've learned from that other tortured life the nightmare always ends
