A Poem by Aries

"
Surrounded by scattered trinkets and the trivial
worldly items collected by bargaining or begging
once pawned to me and the cycle renewed
I sit and ponder what it is I even want

A quarter of a lifetime is enough for many
to love, to laugh, to lie and to learn
that not everyone will make it to the final turn
That a truly guilty conscience is a leaden anchor
wrapped around one's throat and tossed to sea
and perhaps the only way to be free
