Young and RecklessA Poem by C.ElleBeing young and reckless with loveIt all started with your punk glasses in my hands The sight of you banging your head with the beat The tires kicking up dirt as the wheels spun Recklessness and my curfew thrown to the street
I should have known after that first crazy night You never asked to take it to that level You came and promised me your soul And then accused me of being the devil
You were just a child acting so childish But I’m no toy and don’t break like that You turned around and walked away from me With all of your lies as crooked as your hat
Only when you left did I realize the truth The truth that I had already chosen you You left me without plans in a world so cold And now I’m lost and sick with more than the flu
Love can bring hate and with that iron fingers Your glasses sit in pieces upon my bed I see you often and I just want to scream But my heart just stays quiet and bleeds instead © 2010 C.Elle |
