Nightmare

Nightmare

A Poem by C.Elle

Nightmare

Through the deserted corridors of night

Day creeps along with a silent, slow pace

A stranger appears without an invite

A still heart beats hard like an angry bass

Truth is not seen through eyes of the stranger

Walls barricade many lies falsely shown

Like shadows that hide the unseen danger

Deceit lurks beneath the disguise unknown

Blind in a nightmare, with no way to run

Lost inside a maze with infinite ends

A voice without sound cries out to the sun

The stranger just smirks as his curse extends

A sunrise shines into a quiet room

Woken abruptly from a flower’s soft bloom
