PART 1

Calling. The Black Forest is calling for me. I leave the peace of the White Forest and venture into the dark. As soon as I step into the obsure my feet sinks right into the sand, and I fall. I start rolling downhill, deeper into the obscure. Soon no trees are, only dunes. I stopped rolling; it felt like a really long trip down, so I look to the top of the hill from where I fell. I find only the crepuscular skies. I look down to where my feet stand, and I’m looking to the top of the dune. Soon thunders grab my attention. They write sounds in the skies I cannot read. Is that my call?

Two towers erect from the sands. One to the left which has written a word that sounds like “Light”. The one to the right has written another word, this one sounds like “Ryan, wake up”.  Who is Ryan?

“Hey Ryan” said Sophie with the prettiest of smiles.

“Hi, Sophie,” thought takes over. I am Ryan.

“What are you doing standing there? We need to get the chores done before the moons touch the sky”

“Yes, I know, but…”

“What?”

“What does light mean?”

Sophie looked confused. She left with a smile again in her face and continued her chores. She was washing some dishes, and there was one specially which she focused all her attention into. No matter how much she tried to clean that dish it still was dirty. I came closer to see the dish. It had an inscription on the edge which read “Ryan, wake up”. The other 6 dishes strangely also had inscriptions and all read “Light”.

Time passed slowly. I helped Sophie finish all her chores around the house and by the time the two moons touched the skies we were already sitting in bed, upstairs in the second floor of the house. I looked at the walls of our room. They had scribbled “Ryan, wake up” all over them. I then looked at Sophie’s blue eyes. They were enchanting.

“Hey, Ryan, do you know the names of the two moons? I happen to forget them the whole time,” said Sophie, interrupting my meditation.

“The brown one is called Annie, and the blue one is called Laura”

I was getting a bit hungry so I got up from the bed and went to the kitchen to get some snack. In the way I noticed the halls all had “Light” scribbled all over their walls. Even the kitchen and the other two rooms in the house had “Light” scribbled all over their walls, except for two room which were empty and had nothing scribbled on their walls. Why were this two phrases haunting me?

PART 2

“Miss. Smith, 6 specialists, from this institute, including me, think your husband will never recover. I think is better for you to euthanize your husband,” said the Doctor, “To relieve him from his pain.”

“Leave now, please,” said Sophie and the Doctor left. She then slowly approached her husband. He was connected to a machine, living thanks to it. Sophie’s life was now a drama deserving of a Shakespearian play. Car crash. Death of her two daughters: Annie and Laura. Her husband in coma.

“Ryan, wake up,” said Sophie amongst tears. She was steadily losing hope, like a dish getting dirty, but with no possibility of getting of being cleaned again.

PART 3

Light… it’s writing sounds so good, not like Ryan, wake up. It’s pleasing and it’s healing my wounds. It’s strange how I have all these injuries since I was born and still they don’t hurt. I must know what it is. I left the house early today and only left Sophie a note saying “Ryan, wake up” That way she’ll never find me. I’m walking through the Black Forest. It’s hard to see a few feets beyond due to the vegetation and the dark. The only visibility I get is from the trees. They are all shining and talk to me but I cannot read what they are saying. I don’t want to read. I know what they are telling me. Ryan, wake up.

Soon I get past the forest. Thunders telling me the same trees do. I don’t want to read. The first thing in sight is a vast desert and two towers. Will I make it to the “Light” safe and sound? It’s hard to tell when you can’t breathe. I give my first step towards the tower, but it it ends not being a mere step but a whole leap. I then turn around to give my last glance to the right tower. It is not there.

Wow, I really like this one!! Your descriptions of the transitions between scenery were fabulous. I was kind of wondering where the heck you were going with this story up until part two, where you brought the story together wonderfully! I liked your style utilizing the mystery. This was a very enchanting piece of writing! One thing to keep in mind is to check up on your spelling and grammar. Other than that, great job, keep up the great work!
