princess pillow.

princess pillow.

A Poem by Gabrielle
"

coming back to haunt me, like bad dreams tend to do.

"

it's hard to react when everything goes so fast.

it's hard to stop what is already happening.

words flow out of your mouth

before you can tell exactly what they are.

you don't mean most of them,

but you are so caught up in the moment

that you scream them anyway.

"i hate you!"

you retreat to your room,

never daring to come out again.

your hands are shaking so much.

you call the one person who can fix you.

he sneaks to your house,

and climbs the oak tree near your window.

through the open window he can see you

soaking your favorite princess pillow with your tears.

he holds you,

you feel like all of it has gone away.

then you hear the footsteps on the stairs,

and he has to leave you,

alone.

"she speaks. oh speak again, bright angel."

that just made me think of the tacky, modern version of romeo and juliet with leonardo dicaprio and mercucio takes ecstasy...

anyway, i wish i had an oak tree outside my window for boys to climb through when i'm feelin' down and out

lines 13-16 made me say, out loud, "she speaks. oh speak again, bright angel. for thou art as glorious to this night, being over my head, as is a winged messenger of heaven."

this is depressing. & the explanation or quote orwhatever at the top? :*

i love you and i like this.
