Dangerous Queen

Dangerous Queen

A Poem by Wynter Page

She was such a dangerous queen,

like the ones I had dreamed of

back in '77 when my youth

was still prime

and I wanted for not,

except satisfaction.

I watched her distantly

as her eyes hid behind

her wild, red hair.

Oh if she were only a memory

and not a present desire,

what a man she turned me into..

And though she didn't

realize the consequence

from the choice I was to make,

it was certain to me that she

would feel her heart pounding,

her thoughts clouding with confusion

as I did,

or she would leave in disgust,

slaughtering me so bittersweetly.
