Pray Before...

Pray Before...

A Poem by Wynter Page

Was told I could find

some answers,

for this twisted mind of mine,

just behind that door

you stood beside.

But in that room,

there were no words

to soothe my wondering thoughts,

just some sheets

to hold innocence sweetly between.

Did I even pray before...

...before there were skin and kisses

called love?

Told me to remember that love hurts,

that pain sustains.

Think it was just nonsense

so I wouldn't remember

when my blessed angel

turned into the damn devil.

I can't seem to forget.

Oh god, did I pray before...

...I went chasing after that pain again?

Born to die,

born to love,

who cares as long as

we don't let love kill?

Did I pray before

I set that devil

in front of my tear-stained revenge?

Did I pray before I found

the answer to this twisted mind of mine

at the twisted death of yours?
