AbscenceA Poem by Wynter Pagethey say abscence makes the heart grow fonder...I had memorized the lines around your eyes. I knew every sign screaming you had a secret inside. But now for the life of me, I can't bring to mind what it felt like to have my hair brushed with your undeciding sigh.
What's happened between us that made you a distant memory? You were my greatest discovery, how could I forget so easy? All the letters we wrote still hide underneath my bed. When I read I can't remember the way your lips moved with the words you said.
Abscence makes the heart grow fonder, but my heart can't hold on much longer.
I know you had to go away for awhile, but I need just a little taste of you. Just a bit to fill me up again with that deep burning that feels so good. You can't give me anything, you've let yourself go far away. You needed to heal your body, heal your mind. and you knew I'd be counting the days.
You told me you'd come back to me in dreams, in the dark I have to call those lost pictures in my brain. I have to force my body to paint the pictures on my eyes. They keep getting fainter, keep making me more insane. I need something fresh, I need something new. Darling just please for one night make yourself appear. Even if I only gaze, it'll be enough. For a few more nights, I'll hold the moments dear.
I'm tearing up the floors because I keep pacing on them. Your heartbeat used to sound so much like the constant rhythm. © 2014 Wynter PageFeatured Review
