Imagine You and Me

Imagine You and Me

A Poem by Wynter Page
"

written about a shadow and a long distant memory...

"

I've pondered this so many times.

It seemed so close, so true then,

so much more believable in my thoughts.

It was just so much easier when I imagined it.

But then imagination isn't reality,

and reality was the wedge instead of the anchor,

and made my thoughts the only place I could be with you.

It all seems like a waste,

that I couldn't have shared a lifetime with you.

I couldn't grow with you,

couldn't learn from you.

Couldn't rediscover myself with you.

I had imagined our whole life together,

but reality wouldn't give us a day.

I hold onto the sweet false chance

that maybe you could love me back.

But I'm not hurt, you're still with me.

And in my mind, you always will be.
