Redemption

Redemption

A Poem by wild karma
"

July 2008 -- sometimes it takes a really really hard blow to the head with something made out of iron...

"

Rising to my feet, blood pouring from my head
In that moment I remember how to laugh

Blisters split and my feet swell
burdened, yet through the miles,
through the pain I call your Name
You reach into my heart and awaken my spirit
through all the pain I smile

As always, I rebel and argue
As always, you are right

In ignorance I cling to darkness
holding onto bitterness and fear
Lost in the Wilderness I bury my flame
trying to conceal my presence
hiding, because I was afraid

Lord, you laid out a banquet and lit the bonfire
calling out for those lost in the Wilderness
calling out for the lost to come Home

Even in pain, bleeding and swollen
I hear the call and rise to my feet
"come home," You say
with tears of joy and my heart in my throat
I hear the call and grasp your outstretched hand

Lord, you pulled me up and showed me the path
my spirit healing and my heart lightened
just let me have the courage to follow

For the first time in years, and many of them
I find myself standing and smiling
chastised and humbled, yet uplifted
I don't feel it, the old anger and pride
that poisonous ire that once enslaved me

Lord, you pulled me up and showed me the light
I am blinded, yet unafraid and open
After all this time, I can see You

And I know that you have always seen me.

About
I travel a lot, too much really. Arguably I have a nomadic lifestyle. It's pretty chaotic and not as much fun as it's cracked up to be. I write to let off steam and to flush out the sort of stuff t.. more..
