A Poem by Willard Wells
"

"

Life goes on,

blazing sun in the sky,

humidity beyond acceptable levels.

Checking funds for daily food,

finding it sparse to feed us all

hoping we won't be so hungry today.

Children crying in hunger,

holding then, rocking to distract the gnawing.

They don't understand, we have no food.

In much of the world

too much food today,

so throw it out as we had our fill.

The disparity is evident even to the blindest eyes, yet how long have we fed at the top table, whilst casually throwing our scraps on the floor for all the rest of the world to fight over? And the craziest thing of all is, these people are no longer half a world away, try walking half a block without seeing the true face of modern society, the lost and hungry souls, forgotten amongst us. How often do we stop to hear what they have to say...about as much as governments and world leaders do, or ever will.
superbly written Willard, we truly are as divided as ever.

You're welcome.
Wow Willard, you hit the nail on the head with this write. I know many people that feed their pets, the wild birds, deer to bring them in for the hunt, but see neighbors hungry and do not donate to them or the food bank. Valentine
