I enjoyed the poem Will. The short format makes for an easy read.
The line, "with my own minds eagle eye" feels redundant a little. Not trying to be critical, but could it be more peer full by simply stating, "with mind's eagle eye"?

Well, I will review it. It is a new poetic form for me and I did three. The first was close, this the best and Hal a goof. The form has a number of requirements. 5-7-5-7-7. I will take your thoughts under advisement. And in reality, I did not like that line anyway. hahaha Thanks for the time and suggestion.

Yes, this is classic tanka, excellent. This, to be honest, is flawless in form and meter.
You even used conceptual personification, which is beautifully done but does not change the voice like metaphorical personification.
