Moment

Moment

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Know where you are

"

Our past is just that,

it cannot be changed.

Our future has not arrived

so we do not know what life may bring.

All we truly have in life, is this very moment.

No future, no past.

Just this moment in time to savor.

Knowing your life you control right now.

So each day look in the mirror,

say well done, I have done well.

Your past and your future at this moment do not exist.

Thank you Maria. I appreciate your visit and your kind words.
'So each day look in the mirror,
say well done, I have done well.

Your past and your future at this moment do not exist.'

I have always found such observations make one reflect that the past shapes us [that is life] but the present is the gift of a choice of attitude and that can change the future direction.

Yes, being in the moment is a safe place to be. And how true, the past and fear of the future can be so very damaging to a person. Love your poem (really do!)

I agree, we are always in the here and now. I've heard it said many times, take life one day at a time. That's what I try to do. A good poem with a good message Willard.

Yes Samuel and thank you for stopping by.
A topic I focus on daily. I have a very hard time being in the moment. I'm an escape artist. Ha. There is no have done, will do, might have or should have. There is only what is.
Love this philosophy of living. Difficult to master, but a worthwhile state of mind.
