Lacking

Many words do leave my pen

along with many thoughts,

dreams and ideas,

expressed with ease.

I go to speak to God,

with many thoughts

of devotion and love.

But my words to God

seem to be lacking,

in the big scheme of things.

Truth comes forth in my mind,

that I have not given

or felt the love,

that I should for my God.

Speaking words of love

to my beloved,

comes easy as my heart

bleeds my love for her.

But is my lack

of words for my God,

because I have not

shown my God the same love,

That he deserves!!

This is the truth. We find God when we need him. Which is sad. Old war saying. "All men find God in the foxhole." Thank you Willard for the outstanding poetry.

OH MY God. I must say that I really love this piece. I can totally relate to this piece. I too, feel like i have been neglecting my God for so long. But old habits die hard, and the right thing to do is always the hardest. Anyways, great job. Stay inspired.

Yes sometimes I can feel this way, that I do not love God as much as I should. That is when writing and/or singing can be very helpful and also reading the Bible, it reminds me what God has done and will do. This kind of reminds me of the song Forever Friend sung by Daniel O'Donnell I think that is how it is spelt. It is a very wonderful song. One part talks about how we are sometimes not the greatest friends to God, but God is always our friend He loves us even when we mess up at times, He just longs for us to seek Him and to develop a close relationship with Him.

I am outgoing, but I have limited social anxiety in given situations and public prayer is it. Many persons have expressed beautiful words to God and I have never been confident. I was considering this question and wondered why my words to my love come so easy so I have to question my love to God.
