Grandma's Christmas Treat

Grandma's Christmas Treat

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

On the lighter side

"

Texture or feel

slipping slowly,

gently down

seems to be a little gooey.

First to look at it,

then perchance

a little sniff,

to see what

olfactory sensation it may bring.

Scent in check

with no critter parts.

I poked it now

to see what tactile property,

it might have.

It was not firm,

seemed to jiggle.

Unconcerned stepping up,

grabbed a fork.

Don't usually eat things,

that move, that are green.

This is so funny, I love your response to a reply that you watch the kids to see if it is safe to eat.
I'm a picky eater, and won't touch anything that has touch unclean hands or foreign objects or anyone else s lips. yeah I can appreciate the reality of it all and the little thoughts.

So did you ever find out what the dish was? Oh I guess it's better unknown LOL

Ah, the one thing grannies have in common the world over. Serving new stuff and telling you its good for you :)
I like how you go through the senses with this piece. Reminiscent of trying to guess whats in the wrapped xmas gift that is bizarrely shaped when you are a kid :)

Oh, boy. You know, with my weakening vision and rusty brain, I sometimes misread things on initial glance. When I first saw this title, I thought it said, "Grandma's Christmas Teat." It was quite alarming when I read "grabbed a fork." Oh, nooooo! I apologize, Will.
