Reflections In My Face

Reflections In My Face

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Just being goofy

"

I look in the mirror,

seeing such a face.

The reflection I see

is a reflection of me.

Or at least of a

reflection of me at this time.

I see a smile, kind of

a mischievous grin.

Which gives pause to consider

what trouble I can get in.

It makes me happy

no one should be sad

As I look at my face

with great joy.

I laugh at all

of the wrinkles I found.

It was my honest pleasure.
it's great when someone can look into the mirror and not get upset at physical flaws...those are what make us who we are...they are beautiful...and show experience and wisdom (those wrinkles)----

This sounds very similar to my mornings and afternoons and evenings. This was a fun and reflective read.

Thank you for your time in viewing my words and commenting. May all your reflections be positive.
The only bit of constructive criticism I would like to add is it rhymed in the beginning, then fell off, and picked back up again. I personally also try to avoid using the same descriptive word, in this case "sad", more than once in such a small piece.

This poem makes me want to stare into the mirror and pick out what I see and compare it to what others see.

Lol..I'm glad you found your face amusing! I'm often of the opinion that mirrors are the enemy.

Self esteem is a funny thing. Even when the mirror shows something good it doesn't always help.
