Thoughtful Refrain

In my Head............Maybe not wise?

Hearing the term

marching to the

beat of a different drummer,

that thought did

not bother me.

Feeling quit secure

in what I thought,

of what was the norm,

but it appears I

may have been wrong.

Years have past

and by surprise

a miracle or two,

and a God that said,

Let him chill just a bit.

So still here after

many years and still

I ask am I getting it right?

Well the fact that I am still

gives me pause.

Since right or wrong, at least I am here to sing a sad song.

Very good but sad poem. I think poets are all a bit sad. They are more sensitive for the things that happen around them, to catch these feelings and put them on paper. Well done, Willard. :) Rudi

Thank you again Rudi. Your visit always bring extra joy and a smile to my face. I have a few piece that came out during my pain solution for my headaches the past few days. Normal for me. Hahaha I have come to the point where I write about my muse and whatever crap pops in my head I guess. This is not always good.

This is the first piece of yours I have read and it is beautifully composed. Like the others I wondered why you ended on the "sad" note. Yet there is something quite beautiful in sad songs, when raw emotion is exposed. Looking forward to reading more of your work.

I have gone back with all the comments about "Sad" song and I understand the concern, but when I wrote it I felt that statement at the end and I still feel the same. At least it has created some conversation if nothing else.

I don't know how to respond to the problem of "sad" song, I just felt I was telling a tale of my life which sounded more like a sad song Thanks for reading and commenting.

Sad song was my finish since I felt the balance was just complaining. So I had done my sad refrain. And damn girl I liked the sound of it.

My brain sees and perceives in perspectives that often get me in trouble and this may have been one on the edge of one of those thoughts. Thanks for traveling on my time plain this day and I have enjoyed the time we have spend together. Peace out!
