Change

As the shadows

grow long and

the days become short.

Winter approaches

as the leaves of color

fall from the trees.

Flowers disappear

as the light of day

fades to shortened time.

Wrapping plants

in blankets

to protect from incoming cold.

Gathering wood

to pile by the hearth

in preparation for a cold stormy night.

Some of us like the changing seasons. Others head south to get out of the cold. Valentine

I read these words and wouldn't think it's a fellow Californian haha... I have almost forgot what the cold feels like my friend. Our time will come soon... and I can't wait!

Willard, I liked this small of cool weather, even if it sounds a bit foreign right now in central Texas. Can't wait till it hits the 60s at night! Then I can call it fall....lol

Can't say as i blame you. My blood is too thin for Alaskan winters, and probably summers too. :D
Willard, I have gone to great lengths to put the horrors of snow and all that it brings, far, far behind. I have been very, very intimate with the winter season as it dealt with in Northern New England and as it is dealt with in the greater Chicago, Ill. area. I know snow.
I know Cold. and ice, and sleet, and blizzards, and auto accidents etc.
Why is my good friend Will, reminding me about, SNOW?

You are right. I mentioned the S word. You said winter and it triggered snow.

Well it is warm today around 100, but the humidity is around 8% so that makes it work.
I love the changing seasons, though I do not relish in thoughts of he cold and dampness of a Newfoundland, north east coast winter...well-done, Willard
