Shadow Passing

Shadow Passing

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Past life

"

Can you dry away the tears.

They are not planned,

But just appear.

A thought of the past,

Memory so vivid,

Suddenly emotions come forth.

Standing on a street corner,

Taking in the sites;

A shadow seems to cross your path.

Orifice sensations light you up.

Memories again renew your past.

You search around with your eyes.

Hoping to match senses again,

With memory of the past.

To feel that rush you had that did not last.

As you look left,

And then to the right, up ahead.

There's nothing in-sight.

But the memory is there though lost.

And will lay in wait in the dark.

So your heart can race again.

When again the shadow passes.

I like the flash from the past Will! The Shadow either shades that area or was just passing through and latched on to you and was unprepared for you. Shadows are my bailiwick and I do not even know all that much about them. But, I do believe in energy that is out there among us and I believe that it probably stays fairly close to home.

A thought from the past , brought about by a stimulated sense, can garner such deep emotions from within and they linger there for quite some time before allowing us to go about our routines... well-said, Willard!

I have many shadows. Good days can turn bad with a thought. Thank you Willard for sharing the outstanding poetry.
