Earth's DespairA Poem by Willard WellsEarth changes and we are not in control no matter what we are toldYears have passed as the earth Changes climate around the world Up ending life and transforming lives Rebuilding from nothing
Flood waters cover towns and villages Blizzards striking the coast Flooding the streets and fields Dreams and lives float away
Earthquakes shaking the ground Tsunami arising from ocean depths Foaming waves surging forth Crashing down destroying life
Tornadoes crossing the sky Ripping the ground Transporting homes across the fields Scattering of life
Dry earth parched with no rain Rivers and streams run dry Animals and creatures die Pleading for rain from the sky
All of this occurs Bee populations die With search for a reason why As colonies die
Talking heads are in great supply Searching for reason why Giving us reasons Yet no answer
Lives are upended Earth is transformed Adapt you must to survive Just remember
