Earth's Despair

Earth's Despair

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Earth changes and we are not in control no matter what we are told

"

Years have passed as the earth

Changes climate around the world

Up ending life and transforming lives

Rebuilding from nothing

Flood waters cover towns and villages

Blizzards striking the coast

Flooding the streets and fields

Dreams and lives float away

Earthquakes shaking the ground

Tsunami arising from ocean depths

Foaming waves surging forth

Crashing down destroying life

Tornadoes crossing the sky

Ripping the ground

Transporting homes across the fields

Scattering of life

Dry earth parched with no rain

Rivers and streams run dry

Animals and creatures die

Pleading for rain from the sky

All of this occurs

Bee populations die

With search for a reason why

As colonies die

Talking heads are in great supply

Searching for reason why

Giving us reasons

Yet no answer

Lives are upended

Earth is transformed

Adapt you must to survive

Just remember

Mother nature's in charge

Love this write and i agree.. yes we can all do our part to keep our home earth clean but regardless she is in charge and i think most of what is happening will be happening no matter what we did or do...mother nature is the boss!! :)

Amen. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Life is surprisingly adaptive. My favorite line from Jurassic Park "Life will find a way." Mother Nature throws her fits as she remodels her world. Man is arrogant if he thinks to stop her. There is a balance of energy to be found even in her extremes.

I tend to agree although I think man has to pay head to his influence?

Oh yes since we do have an effect on our planet. But in the end Mother nature is boss.

I agree. I hope the human species learn to live in peace with Nature.
good comment on the state of the world today Willard, certainly we have plundered more than we should but nature has a way of evening the score and at the end it will be nature that dictates how we may or may not survive, remarkable poem my friend :)

Thank you Richard as your words are always valued and appreciated. Glad you enjoyed.
Great write! I was actually just watching a show on Netlfix called Planet Earth. Extremely informative and it is based on how Earth is constantly changing over time and there is nothing we can do to stop it. This write made me think of it :)

Good topic! Yes, the answer is well put, the earth is in charge. All those earthly upheavals....simply the earth reacting to all of mankinds actions toward a natural force. Great poem!
