Awake

Awake

A Poem by Willard Wells

Morning sun peeks

Over the horizon

Dew drops cover

Blades of grass

Birds early morning Song

The rooster crows

Small creatures stir

As night owls sleep

Another night has passed

With moon

And stars

Crossing a darkened sky

Awake now

Humans of earth

Take count of your blessings

Blessing for eternity

A good poem Willard, a really good poem that describes how we all wake up!
I think we all wish to wake up in bed sorrounded by fields of grass and trees while the sun peeks by the mountains. Ah beautiful scenery it is.
Great poem, I enjoyed reading this one a lot. I mind as well put it on my Ipod to read it when I wake up! lol
Anyways, I'm not surprised coming this good piece from you, as you are a great poet.

thanks Raj. Two ot the same suggestion. Guess I better review it hard. Thanks,
Willard, I like the tone of this...the early morning descriptions and details that make morning fresh! I'd work a bit on the closing line though. Perhaps something about opening eyes would work, because it will also layer the meaning of counting blessings...just a thought. Jan
