Just A Number

Just A Number

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Terry Collett's work set my mind in motion for this work.

"
As I grow older
And look back in time
I have no regrets for all time

I have loved and lost
And loved again
And again

As my life passed by
And boy did it fly
But then again

That's Life

Now I had a vision
When a youth
Of being 20 and out of my youth

Now I look on that vision
When no longer a youth
Not past my prime and I hope not my youth

But the turn of an ankle
The lift of skirt
I remember my youth

Again, I think this tighter style serves you well. My burning question is why the form change for the last line and I would tighten the last line to just "youth remembered" my could be optional, but not needed.
I think I'd look at the last line either way. and play with the look if you bring the form back in..to change or not to change...that is always the poets question.

Thank Raj, I knew I needed your eyes on it. Appreciate the read and comments.
Your poem gives a strong message of living life by one's own terms and being unapologetic in our attitude. The intensity of determination of a person to pursue a vision and achieve it is far more important than his or her age. Well written Willard :)

No regrets, just "what ifs" Is youth wasted on the young, probably, but it ain't until age and experience slap your face that you realise this

:D welcome!
Wonderfully written. I think age is just a number as well! People can experience things at any age that cause them to mature quickly, and some are just wise beyond their years. Age is just a number and the importance people see in it can be quite intimidating.
