Moments of Happiness

Moments of Happiness

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Lost Hope

"

I wish I could make you happy,

But life does not always work that way.

We have to find our moments of happiness,

Since in the blink of an eye it is lost.

Happiness is not a bauble or a trinket or something bought. Happiness is something shared by two people that will forever illicit reminders of moments spent together when being anywhere else on earth would not have been enough.

But you have to be able to accept the happiness which starts with loving yourself.
So true. Happiness is not guaranteed and we cannot rely on others for our happiness. We must find happiness within ourselves. It can be difficult at times but in the midst of adversity it can be our only vice. We need to hold on to it and make it our own. Nice job!

Thank you Richard for your kind words and time with my work.
Being responsible for our own happiness is not a concept that a lot of people really understand. Other people can add to our joy, but it is our take on life that is responsible for whether or not we are happy with our decisions.
Life is too short not to be happy, but a bit of contrast is always needed for true appreciation. I just choose not to get stuck in the sadness and tragedy of life for long.

Savor every moment like it is the last. Thank you for reading and commenting.
So, so very true. This is a great little reflective message to us all that life is far from smooth and sometimes it is up to us to deal with what it thows our way and not simply expect others to take responsibility.

There is truth in what you say but, so often, women want something that is meaningful to them to be seen by them before they move on to create moments of happiness with a fellow. Every girl you meet has her own little standards she tries to adhere to! Nice poem, spot on.
