~Wise Words Of The Sage~

~Wise Words Of The Sage~

A Poem by Sheila Kline
"

A student, and his wise sage ponder the meaning of words that speak of hunger, thirst, pain, lonliness. The student asks questions, and finds the answers he seeks in a book ages old.

~Wise Words of The Sage~

I opened the book before me and read the words:

~THE BEGINNING IS THE END~

I said to my teacher as I studied each page,

"Explain the meaning of these words I see,

What do they mean to you,

What do they mean to me"?

Words were then spoken by my teacher,

An older spirit, wiser with life, my Sage,

"Oh, questioning young man,

I'll explain to you what I can".

"The beginning of the end of mankind without food and water,

Is for one to say, 'Brother, we feel your thirst, your hunger,

We are willing, and ready to sow empty fields with good seed.

To produce food, nourishing, healthy, wholesome and good,

To bring up water from a deep well that is clean and pure,

And quench your thirst, and illnesses with goodness cure.

The beginning of the end for ones in lands ravaged by war,

Is to say to the other we will bring you supplies, workers,

To band together, uniting, as we work to build you homes.

For those who cry out with emptiness, ravaged by sorrows,

Offer them encouragment and hope to send shadows away.

Study, stop and think about these words that I now teach.

The beginning of the end for lonely hearts, and spirits low,

Is to give them good news of the wondrous birth of Christ.

Explain God's great love found within the four Holy gospels,

Offer them eternal life, plan of salvation, renewing spirits.

Tell them to seek and they shall find answers to questions,

To walk through open doors as truth is revealed to them.

I pondered on the words of this elder, a most wise sage,

And looked again at the words written on pages before me.

The BOOK I was holding, my BIBLE, well worn, used often,

Had withstood tests of time, had marched through eternity.

Feeling warmth of the light of these powerful words, I said:

"Rise up now, all ye mighty, willing soldiers of the Cross!

Let us each bring the beginning to the end of man's woes,

Heal the mighty woes of our land with truth of Holy Words.

It is a message we are as Christians commissioned to send.

It is up to you, and up to me, to pray to do the best we can

We must faithfully forge on, bring the beginning to the end,

And without fear, spreading God's eternal, salvation plan"!

This write is not the usual form that I follow, as I am attempting to move past the familiar abab, or aaba rhyme pattern that I so ofen use.....something a bit different.
It is the message I wish to get across.

Dear Sheila,

This is a truly inspired write. Your words powerfully deliver your message. And your choice of a teacher/student dialog sets the stage for wisdom to be dispensed. There is also a calming effect as the teacher reveals his simple truths, truths that we so often forget.

Very best regards on a wonderful write,

Rick

Well the form was wonderful but the wording was spectacular and the message was uplifting and inspirational but that is what you always do for us here at the cafe. Your message is one I wish everyone read... spread love around no matter how much hate and rejection you get in return in hopes that in the end the love will cover hate.

What a awesome write Sheila, I'm speechless, my friend, I almost said your best, but a know better. It's very well writing, I found it smooth and fluent to read, I love it. The message is so clear, some of us choose not to read, hear or see the overwhelming Power of God. I was thinking about my son Troy and the boy he saved. The rescue was so well plan by god, they could have both died. I have a story to tell you. I will a later. Thank you Sheila for sharing your poem with me. God Bless.
