Recovering

Recovering

A Poem by wuzzle
"

This is actually a song I wrote.

"

(1st verse)

For years your poison drenched my mind

your tangled web made my eyes blind

Now I'm walking down a new road's wind

and you're the one I leave behind

My heart untwists as I take leave

my breath was caught but now I breathe

Released the knotted lies you weave

a conquered self I shall retrieve

(chorus)

self-contained, heart sustained

no more will my soul be pained

my brain surrendered to what you've gained

I'm recovering

(2nd verse)

I'm sickened by the thoughts I keep

Your hold had lulled my dreams to sleep

Though the scars are cut bone deep

A coward's tears I will not weep

I've resolved myself to find a way

I'll keep your poison held at bay

My seething mind you will not sway

Nothing left to make me stay

(chorus)

self-contained, heart sustained

no more will my love be veined

letting go of all you've trained

I'm recovering

(bridge)

Time is lost and never found

you let me go but left me bound

with my two feet I will find ground

I'm recovering

I'm recovering

(chorus)

this poem is awesome and unique it is meant to be a song and a poem at the same time so for me it can be categorized as ballad and seldom writers can write ballads and you really did good.
