Love Torments Me

Love Torments Me

A Poem by wrldbrkr
"

My attempt at a poem. This is 1 of 2 that I was challenged to write. I don't claim to be a poet so I hope this doesn't offend the true poets out there.

"

Every curve of her body

Is burned into my mind

A deeper passion for someone

You will never find

That one night was special

A dream come true

What we shared was pure passion

That’s all I can compare it to

Our bodies worked together

To bring us both to pure bliss

How I long to hold her

To taste her sweet kiss

To have her lay beside me

Love me through the night

I would finally have peace

All would be right

Alas, she made her decision

For her I wasn’t the one

I could tell she was lying

But to familial pressure she did succumb

To do what was expected

And not what she wanted

I still pursue her

I am undaunted

I am still haunted by my love for her

I still have the dreams

When I awake alone

My very soul screams

When you find a love like that

One that is pure and true

Fight for it with everything you’ve got

For that is all that you can do.
