Melodies versus Harmonies (Poem)

Melodies versus Harmonies (Poem)

A Chapter by Writing.the.Strings

There are two types of people in this world.

There are the Melodies.

And there are the Harmonies

The Melodies are the well-known kids in school.

The popular crowd.

Who get most of the attention from peers.

Admired by many, if not all.

Some Harmonies want to be them.

The Harmonies are the lesser known;

Those who don't get much attention

But maybe from teachers and adults.

The ones most call “Outcasts”

Melodies are the rich and wealthy

Those whom people look up to

People of higher status

Most don't want the attention.

Yet they still crave it.

However, both Melodies and Harmonies are alike as well;

Harmonies could be Melodies

And Melodies, Harmonies.

Both can go through their ups and downs

Can make a difference

Change the world

Help society become which it is not today

Both have a purpose in the song we call life.

And they sync together to make the song balance.

As a musician, it's not hard to differentiate the two

It's just difficult to bring them together.

So, which are you?

Melody?

Or a Harmony?

For I myself, am a Harmony

I have been both. Sometimes life forces us to be either. I agree with your logic. Both can do great things. Melody need the award of attention and the Harmony need the feel of success. A very entertaining poem. You asked questions and used great logic. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
