Oxygen thief

Oxygen thief

A Poem by Lexi
"

This poem was written about someone I cared about dearly.

"
Today I will roll out of bed , and down on my knees
Because you have grasped at the very oxygen in my lungs
You have reached into my soul and extinguished any sense of happiness or life I still possessed
You held my mind in your hands, captive with thoughts of you.
I observe the crowd and your face catches my eye
My chest tightens like a helium balloon stretched so far, it may burst.
Today I will wake up with swollen eyes from angry tears from the night before
Each tear represented a time you hurt me and last night was a storm
