You Never Stay Long

You Never Stay Long

A Poem by Amanda Worthington

Your eyes were like fire
staring into my soul.
But I smiled right back
into the eyes of death.

I knew you'd be my death.
because I fell too hard
and you never stay too long.
But I felt complete
with you by my side.

Now
I
Sit
Alone.

Because i knew.
Yet I ignored.
You never stay long.
I know that.

The pain of loving what's bad for you I understand I love this

Besides that one "i" that was I capitalized (a typo I make often) this was very powerful and real. I rarely dabble into poetry so I apologize for being unable to give a constructive response, but I do think that this was a very good piece that was a delight to read. Well done! :)

Thank you! it's nice to know my writing entertains others as much as it entertains myself

Why do I write? Because I want my opinions and my thoughts to be known. I want to make other people feel what I do. I love it when it's just me and my characters, late at night with no one to interrup.. more..
