Good Amongst Bad

Chasing every whim

through clouds of despair.

Looking for a rainbow

in the fog.

Hopes and dreams 

wilted like a flower.

Promises and lies

to make us slow to trust.

Searching for the pot of gold

only never to find it.

We search for the good

amongst all the bad.

We retain hope

when there is no chance.

We will find the light

when it has gone out.

Author's Note

I've had writer's block with this one for a while. I can't say this poem is my absolute favourite, but I think it turned out ok. Give me comments please :)
