Tick Tock

Tick Tock

A Poem by Amanda Worthington

  Tick.
  Tock.
 Tick.
  Tock.
I watch the seconds flit by
on the face of this clock.
I am waiting now
for it to stop
because
there is nothing
I can do
to keep it going.
The big hand
makes it's way to the top.
I know my time
is almost up.
It can't keep going
and I can't stay.
The big hand reaches 12
for a second,
a mere second,
nothing happens.
But only a second
before bright white light
engulfs me.

Why do I write? Because I want my opinions and my thoughts to be known. I want to make other people feel what I do. I love it when it's just me and my characters, late at night with no one to interrup.. more..
