Pride Me Open

Pride Me Open

A Poem by Magzrae

I’m weak for the love between two women.
for lullaby voices and delicate jawlines.
breast-kissed velvet of smooth compassion.
layered rainbows with legs,
and canopy-nestled hearts.
shades of orange, yellow, green, indigo, and violet cushioned veins,
tucked safely in the middle of the familiarly prominent reds and blues.
rainbow pots of gold....spilling,
overflowing out of bellybuttons.
and into synced up streams of rose blood.
geared up to shimmer through all the s**t that falls from the sky.

I would call this offering semi-erotic. Same sex love is mentioned in the first verse and then delicately hinted at through a cascade of suggestive images. Then that single vulgarity pulls us up short in the last line. I suppose there is a message there, but I'm not sure what it is. Very well done, thoughtful piece here.
