blackbird

blackbird

A Poem by Francesca

Blackbird

Blackbird,

Will you sing to me

The song of death?

Sing to me with

Your sorrowful voice

Not like a bluebird

That sings the song of joy,

With it’s blissful voice.

But don’t sing it only to me.

You see.

But sing to the dead soldiers,

buried in their graves.

Sing to the family and friends

who prays silently in their grief

with endless tears .

Sing to the hungry and frightened children,

Who pray with their fragile bodies,

For another tomorrow.

Sing to the people,

With life threatening diseases,

Who don’t have  another tomorrow.

Let the world hear

Your mournful cries,

For the ones that never had,

The chance to say goodbye

Or live to another day.
