When Humanity met Humility

When Humanity met Humility

A Poem by Steffi

When Humanity Met Humility

A smear of crimson
A splash of disaster
Makes the human laugh much louder

A swish of the blade
A scratch on the skin
Makes the human clap much faster

A stretch of reality
A stench of blood
Makes the human grin so much wider

A strip of humanity
A slip of humility
Makes the human bleed so much colder

Wow what a tremendous statement in such few words... it's sad when society is more interested in tragedies of the world then they are human interest stories... this is going in my favs.

Good social comment well worded. I enjoyed it. The first two verses are very clear, but the last is rather cryptic. I'm still trying to figure it out, so if you could help that would be great! x

I like this poem, it has a fast pace and is one of those 'In your face' pieces if that makes any sense. It also brings to mind really good imagery
