A Cup of Black

Should I kill myself, or have a cup of coffee?--Albert Camus

Black is not a color. But against the white coffee cup it radiates, contained in the concave structure. The small wisp of steam that rises from its center denotes an inner evolution; I expect a mutated form to emanate out of its mire. As I stare into the cup, its white becomes translucent and dessicated. Cracks begin to form along the rim then down the outside; minutely, delicately as the black leeches the form into itself.

Their aspects make lambent, beguiling patterns that continue for eons as the cup flattens and spreads before me, expanding through dimensions. I am suddenly aware of all at once. My past, present and future never end and have always existed in a metaphysical capsule. Only my awareness gives it place, time, solidity, consciousness; mere horrific metaphors.

My awareness shifts now. The cup of coffee is only a cup of coffee.

Hahah f*****g fantastic quote. Why am I constantly being reminded of Coffee by the universe? Idk. I guess coffee is life. But on the story: I like the word use, its great. I like that word, mire, its perfect for the story. And the last sentence: its like someone realizing that their addicted to coffee, it has consumed them and taken control of their life. Haha idk. Nice write man, I liked it. I think i should start drinking more coffee now.
