Hellfire

Hellfire

A Poem by Lainey

She falls in a swirl of colors;
Eyes a kaleidoscope of intricate patterns.
Her sense of timing has disappeared,
And all that is left is time for reflection

She faces herself;
Memories and images flashing across her mind's eye
As she comes to terms with who she is,
And why her emotions have run ragged.

The truth is a monster with many faces;
Hard to see, yet hard to ignore.
It cuts deep as it also heals;
A salve added to fuel the hellfire of her soul.

Emotions wage war for her attention,
And she is torn into millions of pieces.
Her soul is stretched in multiple directions
And when she cries for help, for release, she remains unheard

She becomes one of the many pigments swirling in infinity
Yet she is brighter than the others
Her soul is special, twirling amidst the stars;
A shining spectacle of complete freedom.

Yet, she is never noticed.
For her focus remains on her problems rather than her purpose.
She blends in with the faces of the crowd,
And she is burdened with the heavy weight of unknown potential.

Isn't it funny that if we don't know what we are going to do the next day, we feel like we need to be doing something important of that has meaning? This is what your poem reminded me of. That often times we don't know what we are going to do with our lives so we just do the things that we are already good at... we don't try to grow and find more talents, hobbies, or whatever it may be. Our "unknown potential" Is something that we all need to think about and truly ponder and wonder. Your poem was very beautiful and heartfelt.
Thank you for sharing your excellent poetry!
