Sea ChaseA Poem by LaineyI wrote this while I was walking on the beach
Striding aimlessly
Tirelessly Sore feet soothed by the soft caress of the damp sand Blue at my side and blue above me Cloudless Wavelengths away is a foreign shore, where my tired feet have never crossed. The ocean beckons me; casually lapping the surface of the land. My soul Begging me to enter, to travel Deeper, it begs me to traverse. Stronger, the current pulls me in. Faster, the tug at my body. Less, the resistance I have. The calm, inviting friend turns foreboding Angry It does not want me to leave; it holds fast to my limbs as I struggle to the shore. I am breathless...I have won. I glance at the ocean once more as it speaks of calm invitation. I am drawn to chase the sea.
