The Ferocity Behind the InnocenceA Poem by LaineyAssassins are gifted, not just in the art of killing. They are gifted to bear the burden of Death itself.
Harrowing skills that no one would know.
Scared of the truth, afraid to let go. Living in hiding and conquering fear. Live among others where no one can hear. Kill those who need to be sorely dispatched. Sing to the ones who are morally latched. Let them all quiver in fear of the power. The beautiful, innocent, secretive flower. Overwhelming, the power controls and distorts Changing opinions or feelings of sorts. How to control the infinite thirst? How to halt instincts fixing to burst? Assassins are quick and murderous beings, But what happens when they vanquish these feelings? The scary calm can warp the mind Alter the conscious, but what will we find? If these people truly exist Those who are paid to burden the abyss How do they kill to make a living, Shoulder the blame for the pain that they're giving? They must tuck the consequences for their deeds Down to where they forget their leads. The trails on which they followed to kill The masters of sorrow, their plan to fulfill.
