Lies

Lies

A Poem by Sarah Buchanan
"

About the lack of healthcare in this country, mostly venting.

"

We are fed lies

Through tubes of s**t

By people who live in luxury.

They have money

To pay for doctors

For hospitals

For THEIR sickness

But not for ours.

We die in great numbers,

Cause of their greed

And selfishness.

Dark clouds

Hang over us

With debt collectors

And hospital bills.

Universal Healthcare

The sinful word

That will destroy us

Or so they say

For we know not

Of the possibilities

Due to blind eyes

Hypocrisy

Hate

Propaganda.

If only we cared

For one another

Others survive

On this “horrible” idea.

We are fed lies

Through tubes of s**t

By those who live in luxury.

Sarah Buchanan
Just wrote it, first draft and all, kind of wrote it half tired so if it sucks, then that's why.

It doesn't suck...It is a very clear and potent message. Every word burns itself into the core of the writing, making it intense and enjoyable to read. The vivid imagery here is what sets this work apart. Very good.
