Lost Me

Lost Me

A Poem by Sarah Buchanan
"

Something I wrote when I was living out in California.

"

The winds are changing
As we crumble to the ground again.
The life we wanted
Seems so far away.
How the hell do I grasp onto that.
I whisper!

And it’s time to stop
And look at what’s important.
Because otherwise life will pass us by.
And in time we all adapt
To something we never thought we’d be.
Where the hell did I go?

There were days
When all I did was laugh.
Now all I ever seem to do is cry.
Loneliness takes over me.
Everyone I seemed to love is gone.

And it’s time to stop
And look at what’s important.
Because otherwise life will pass us by.
And in time we all adapt
To something we never thought we’d be.
Where the hell did I go?

Everything I know
And everything I was is still inside me.
It has to be.
The fun girl who loves life.
Not the one that dreads it.
The one that doesn’t think about the end,
But holds on to the moments
Cause all life is, is a series of moments.

And it’s time to stop
And look at what’s important.
Because otherwise life will pass us by.
And in time we all adapt
To something we never thought we’d be.
Where the hell did I go?
