I write

I write

A Poem by Sarah Buchanan
"

Not sure if the name fits the poem, it's just all I can think of right now.

"

I write out of frustration,

For the things I cannot change,

The pain I cannot stop,

The feelings I cannot change,

My fingers slide over the keys,

Flowing out letters

That hope to make words

Words that make sentences

That hope to change the world.

I see and feel differently than most.

The world is forever changing,

But it never seems to be for the better.

People just ignore the problems,

Sweep it under the rug.

Act like it ain’t an issue

Cause it doesn’t affect them…

Yet

Everything comes back around

The pain that one feels,

Can pass on,

To the next victim of the world

If no one helps them,

Then that pain will pass on

Yet again

And who knows,

The next victim might be you.

i DON'T WANNA BE A VICTIM!!! This write is wonderful. A very good poem by the best poetess alive...I wonder what goes on inside that mind?

A nicely done commentary on that persistent theme of the seeming cold and uncaring nature of the mass of humanity. I have touched on this in a few of my own poems, and I suppose that everyone who lives and sees and thinks, will take note of this disturbingly insular trend. Yet the small glimmer of hope voiced in the last verses, and the concluding cautionary / karmic thought, balances the feeling of hopelessness.
