Street People

Street People

A Poem by Sarah Buchanan

I see them on the streets and wonder how anyone could fall so far.  What could have happened to them to make them make the streets their home.

The streets are full of dirty people.  Some are crazy, some are sweet, some have just fallen way too deep into their own addictions.  All those dirty people have no homes and no hope for change.

What stories do they have to tell?  Each one's different, but they all ended up on the same streets.  How could they fall so far?  Why was no one there to lift them up?  Life is so cruel sometimes, but people can be even worse.

The streets are full of dirty people.  Some are crazy, some are sweet, some have just fallen way too deep into their own addictions.  All those dirty people have no homes and no hope for change.

The lonely people sit and beg.  THey fight to survive hoping they're able to eat or feed their addiction.  These dirty people have nowhere to go.  Oh, but the stories they could tell.  I'm sure they'd make you cry, if only you had a heart.

The streets are full of dirty people.  Some are crazy, some are sweet, some have just fallen way too deep into their own addictions.  All those dirty people have no homes and no hope for change.

Sad yet the truth, there are far too many homeless people here in America, and it's so sad. I always want to help them, but there really isnt much you can do. Thank you for writing this, maybe someone will get an idea to help them while reading.
