Death of Everything

Death of Everything

A Poem by Sarah Buchanan

We call ourselves civilized?

Destruction of everything.  Mother Earth cries out in pain.  We trample, we push, we shove anything in our way.  Our lives revolve around the chaos that we create.

We are the death of everything.  We are the pain of everything.  We are the destruction of everything.  But yet we still exist.

Mother Earth fights back.  She takes our levies, our buildings, our lives.  We take her resource, till the run dry.  We pollute her air and land.  We modify her plants for personal gain.  Why not kill us all?

We are the death of everything.  We are the pain of everything.  We are the destruction of everything.  But yet we still exist.

One day we won't exist.  Our actions have consequences.  She will make us suffer as we have her.  She will kill us slow than fast.

We are the death of everything.  We are the pain of everything.  We are the destruction of everything.  But yet we still exist.
