River

River

A Poem by Tomahawk Joe

They say life's a path yes that's what they say.

You choose your own path you go your own way.

I say life's a river it moves on it's own

it cuts a channel and you come along.

Along its stream you see many sights some beautiful days.

some dark unknown nights you take many channels whose end is uncertain.

Until behind you death draws the curtain, then only then we'll

be able to tell if that final place will be heaven or hell.

I like the idea I feel their is music in the movement and that the word channel could use a synonym in its place later on

Philosophically enticing...do we truly know the path or is it planned...guess we won't know - although intuition plays a part for some - until the curtain loses it grip and falls x

Nice writing on the river of life. Reminds me of a poem that I wrote called water.
Linking nature with lives, and the happenings in daily life.

This is a unique take on a journey called life. True, in this world everything is uncertain except change, death and perhaps, paying taxes. =)

An interesting perspective on life and its possibilities. Yes, death is stalking us all...he catches up with some of us more quickly than others, but he'll surely catch us all in the end! A well penned piece. ~ Robert.

thank you for your review
hm very interesting and captivating way to say that there is a reason for everything and earth will bring what it brings no matter what we do. the river was a great way to phrase it metaphorically!

in the second line of the second stanza i think it should be 'many channels whose ends are uncertain' just some dumb nitpicky grammar haha. great job!!
