A Lifetime Of Tender Hugs

A Lifetime Of Tender Hugs

A Poem by Writer Lover

When I was just a wee little baby tender arms
held me tight. If I were sick and feverish
they rocked me through the night.
She made my hurts and scratches better with
just a kiss and a hug and gave me the
courage to be brave when I saw a little bug.
When it came time to attend school and she
sent me on my way, she gave me great big hug
to last me through the day.
Throughout each phase of my life when new
beginnings before me were laid, she gave me
encouraging hugs and taught me never to be
afraid.
She has grown older now and still gives them
regularly. A loving mother's hugs she has
freely lavished on me.
While remembering the past, I can look back
and see a lifetime of tender hugs that she
has given me.
