Run

Run

A Poem by Aly

This was written on March 7th of 2013 and edited on March 9th, of 2013.

As I run away
I run away from the pain
All the memories
Everything

All the men I once cared about.
Gone
I run away from their haunting memory.

I tore my heart out
And run away from it
It calls
"Come. Come back."

I run away from my beating heart
I'm ready to live life without one

As I run away
Everything that was once beautiful turns cold and blue.
I run past a beautiful flower
It's cold and blue

Everything dies

None of them loved me
None of the men wanted me

The only beautiful thing is the moon
As it guides me I can't help but look back.
I took so many chances only to have a bleeding heart.

With every man
I was healed
I was stitched up

With every man
New wounds were created
Old wounds were released

I was bleeding
Maybe even healing

I'm dying
With each step
Til I am on the ground
Gasping for some kind of air

They were my whole world

I gave up my heart
Gave up feelings
Gave up the possibitly of falling in love

I feel everything around me die
Just like me
I feel nothing but the cold air

My open exposed heart
Beats one final time
And shatters

Aly
A poem reflecting on me and how I feel right now.
I'm definitely sick of heartbreak.
But these men always give me something to write about,

spectacularly perfect, with so much emotion and detail. This took my mind to so many images in my head and that was my favorite part of this poem.
Good job!!

So much pain in this Aly, my heat goes out to you. Someone once told me that when you meet a guy if you think you could love him you should only give him 10% of your heart to start, then as time goes on you can give him a little more until you know you can truly trust him. If you give him all your heart at the start then he can take it and crush it and stomp on It as guys so often do and then you are left with nothing. You are too beautiful to suffer so much hurt and at the end of the day guys really are not worth all the pain.

thank you
well, heartbreak is excellent fodder for poetry and if your soul is gone then you have nothing left for you to write about just saying but good job tho.

Once you say no to men, you have to commit. You can't go buying shovels to big for treasures. That is just cheating.
