Every Drop

Every Drop

A Poem by Aly

When I said the last words to you.
I gave the biggest drop I could to you.
All the healing you gave to me.
I gave to you.

Every word I write
Every letter I send
Is my drop to you.

I bet you didn't know you were healing me.
I didn't know every smile we shared was a drop to my heart.
I knew you were healing my heart.
But I didn't realize every smile we shared.
Every touch we had.
Was helping me heal my wounds.
You were sewing my wounds.
Stitch by stitch.

The pieces of my heart that shattered.
The heart that once beat on it's own.
Was beating again because of you.

I was alive again because of you.

Every heart beat was because of you.
When we hugged I felt complete.
Every act of kindness was a reminder of who I wanted to be.

Thank you for fixing me.

I like how you used every drop to describe each new stitch ur special person. It makes me think of these drops as teardrops and how, usually they're shed from past pains, they are shed in a happy sense. :)
