Four Words

How could you lie? 

How could you break my heart with four words. 

Four words I believed were true.

But were only a lie. 

Four words to end a friendship that took time to build. 

Four words for me to never see you again. 

Four words I hope I never hear or experience again. 

Four words. 

That's all it took.

Four words broke my trust. 

Four words stole that good image of you. 

Four words showed who you really are.

i am trying to forget four little words..."i don't love you" then four more appear..."i just want out" and then four more "please leave me alone" and it goes on and on like a horrible nightmare from that point. the fact that you never give them up is excellent because each of us has our own "waterloo" in four little words...this is one fantastic poem!
